Gem City S’mores
Gooey and sweet, s’mores are a classic treat famous for being prepared outside. However, this treat is just as delicious when cooked in the:
- microwave for 3-5 minutes
- oven at 400 degrees F for 10-15 minutes
Head over to the Dayton Nut & Candy Co. for some Friesinger’s Chocolate to add some local flavor to your sweets. It’s a 5 minute drive from First Place or about a mile walk each way.
Flying Pigs in a Blanket
Oven-bake those dogs! Wrap up some hotdogs in cheese and refrigerated dough for a classic dish known as pigs in a blanket. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees F. Serve with your preferred condiments for a favorite among your guests of all ages!
First Place Fruit Pizza
Blueberry stars and strawberry stripes are the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day using Pillsbury’s Easy Fruit Pizza Recipe. Decorate using patriotic colored fruits and serve to friends and family. Make sure you get your fresh produce from the 2nd Street Market!
2nd Street Sloppy Joes
Instead of burgers on the grill, mix things up with mouthwatering Sloppy Joe Sliders prepared in the crock pot using ingredients from the 2nd Street Market. Grab a pound of ground bison from Grassroots Bison Ranch and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 3-4 hours. Several shops sell seasonings for some great sloppy joes. Try the Spice Rack & Bulk Foods booth or inquire at Maria’s Unique Foods. Serve them on some fresh artisan buns from the Big Sky Bread or Rahn’s Artisan Breads. They’ll be sure to impress!
