Can’t get away this year for Spring Break? Don’t worry! If your budget is broken or you are otherwise home-bound this spring, here are some great Dayton-area Spring Break activities for stay-cation inspiration.
Waynesville, Ohio Get-Away
Did you know there is a rodeo in the Dayton area? Tucked away in Waynesville, the Fox Hollow Rodeo is an interesting outing for a Saturday night. Boasting family-friendly fun, the weekly event offers up bull riding, pony rides for the kids, and even line dancing.
Speaking of Waynesville, this little community is the perfect day out during your local spring break. At just a little over a half hour from downtown Dayton, you can relax for the evening at one of the quaint Bed & Breakfasts, have a romantic dinner at one of the delicious local restaurants, or poke around the stores. We highly recommend a meal at the Cobblestone Village Café—the complimentary cup of Chai tea at the end of the meal is tops!
Vineyards in Dayton
You don’t need to head off to Napa to get your wine on! The Dayton area has some amazing wineries ready for you and yours to spend the afternoon at! Brandeberry Winery in Enon features live music events all year long in addition to tastings and delicious small plate items.
On the east side of town, bring your appetite because Valley Vineyards not only has an ample tasting menu but is known for the delicious grill-your-own steaks! Also on the east side of town you can try a glass at Ceasar Creek Vineyards. Be sure to check out their upcoming events, as they offer the popular “paint nights” on site.
Museums in Dayton
Besides the popular (and free) National Museum of the US Air Force, have you been to the local museums the Dayton area has to offer? Dayton has a fantastic art museum featuring both contemporary and traditional collections, the Dayton Art Institute. Dedicated to spreading teachings of non-violent conflict resolution, the Dayton Peace Museum is a unique fixture to the downtown cultural landscape. If you’re looking for a hands-on experience then you must head over to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery! It’s a fantastic local find for the kid in all of us!
Break Out Dayton
Chatting about all these great spring break ideas in Dayton has got us thinking, what about doing a Break Out? Businesses like these have been popping up all over the country lately, and Dayton is lucky enough to have one of our own! The object of Break Out’s games is to escape, solve the heist, or save the day—along with your best friends and family.
