If ordering pizza is passé, but you still need an option for dining in delivery-style, read ahead. We review 5 great options for food delivery in Dayton.
Dayton’s Door Dash
One of the most popular food delivery services, Door Dash offers up a multitude of area restaurants and gives estimated delivery times right on the website before you order. The delivery cost varies by location chosen, although many are free with a minimum order. Tips are not required, but encouraged. A standard tip for good delivery service is about 15-20% of your total order.
Grubhub for Your To-Go
Another popular option, Grubhub offers up a variety of local restaurants and low delivery fees. The site is extremely user friendly and lists restaurant reviews for each place. They also give an expense range for each. Unlike other options, Grubhub does expect diners to tip their delivery drivers. They recommend a minimum of $5 or 20% of the total meal price, whichever is more.
Treat Yo-self to UberEats
Uber can get you to your destination for an evening out and now they can get food to your door, too. UberEats also gives delivery time estimates on the front page after you select your destination and reviews of the restaurants. However, this was the most expensive option. We checked out with many having delivery fees over $4.00. Tipping is not required. It is left up to the recipient.
BringMeThat Brings You Dinner
BringMeThat brags about being the largest food delivery app in the United States with participating restaurants estimated at 70,000 – 150,000 depending on the source. However, they only have 9 restaurants in the downtown Dayton area participating. Delivery prices are relatively low, ranging from $1.00 to $2.30 for the restaurants listed. They also do not list a tipping policy on the site. We recommend sticking to the 15-20% range suggested above.
